We are looking to fill a brand-new role – Senior actuarial advisor. We are seeking a strong leader and team player who will be involved in many diverse and exciting mandates as we look to expand our footprint outside of Quebec, modernize our operations, grow profitability, and achieve our ambitious strategic plan. Someone who has a passion for building highly competitive insurance solutions and a self-starter who will play an active role in the life insurance industry. You will be involved in product development projects, represent our business unit before senior management, and represent Desjardins Insurance with business partners.

You will work closely with the marketing sectors and ensure solid working relationships with distribution sectors.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the development of competitive and profitable business solutions to meet consumer needs and organizational objectives
  • Develop, conceptualize, modify or adapt the product offering under the responsibility of your unit
  • Ensure support for prioritized initiatives and act as a leader with your unit and ensure good collaboration with the marketing sectors and distribution networks
  • Advise and support your clients and partners in the positioning, planning, development, implementation and follow-up relating to various projects and strategic mandates under your responsibility
  • Target and analyze major issues and challenges. Establish diagnoses and make recommendations to the authorities concerned
  • Represent your unit before the authorities
  • Represent the position of Desjardins within the framework of agreements with partners or external organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

Specific knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of French (an asset)
